Carson City, NV., June 13, 2018 – The Voltaire Fire is 504 acres and 30 percent contained. Approximately 228 fire personnel are assigned to the incident. Fire crews continued to construct handline and extinguish hotspots over the fire today, including assistance from helicopters and air attack.

Voluntary evacuations were lifted at approximately 4 p.m. Area residents and motorists should continue to avoid Voltaire Canyon Road as fire personnel are using this road to access the fire.

The public may continue to see occasional interior smokes and blowing dust over the fire area and winds are expected to persist through Friday.

Incident Commander, Scott Stephenson with the Sierra Front Incident Management Team 1 took command of the fire at 6 p.m.
